MICHELLE'S BIO
Director - Orchard Hills Day School
Hometown: Salem, VA
Family: My husband Larry and I met at Roanoke College and have been married for 33 years. He is from New Jersey, and we moved there after college graduation to start our careers. During the summer of 2002, we moved to Botetourt, and we love it here! We have three awesome children: Mallory (doctoral student at VCU), Brad (just graduated from Washington and Lee and now on staff at Rockbridge Church), and Julianna (just graduated from Lord Botetourt and will be a freshman at Washington and Lee this fall).
Education: BA in English from Roanoke College.
Background: I have been a medical writer and editor for more than 30 years, and I have attended Orchard Hills since 2003. During my time at Orchard Hills, I developed a love for planting churches and helped to plant Restoration Church in Salem in 2011 and Rockbridge Church in Lexington in 2014. In 2016, Orchard Hills Church finished construction on its Children's Building and opened Orchard Hills Day School. I have been the Director since its inception.
My passion at Orchard Hills: Young people! I love to see children and teens identify their gifts and passions and use them to serve and invest in others.
Something not many people know about me: I have three horses and was a show jumper as a teenager.
