Missy’s Bio

Church Administrator

Hometown: Cheyenne, WY

Family:  My husband, Paul, and I met 32 years ago in Cheyenne, WY. We have been married 31 years and have four children, six counting our rambunctious, adorable labradoodles, Mulligan and Bogey.  Our oldest daughter, Brea, and her husband, Trevor, have made us grandparents to a beautiful girl, Callahan Victoria. Trevor, Brea and Callie live here and attend OHC. Our youngest, Trey, is a Junior at Radford University. Our daughter, Lauren, passed away in 1994, and our daughter, Victoria (Torie), passed away in 2006.

Education: Graduated from Central High School, Cheyenne, WY

Background:  I have worked in administrative positions over the past 27 years, including the legal systems in Wyoming and Virginia. I have also worked for Roanoke City Schools and Botetourt County Schools. I became a member of Orchard Hills in 2007, which led to the beginning of my relationship with Jesus. I have served as a volunteer and committee member for Young Life Botetourt. I have also volunteered for various Orchard Hills’ ministries, including Children, Youth, Women, Communion and Prayer.

My passion for Orchard Hills: To invest in others for eternity especially those who have not discovered a personal relationship with Christ.

Favorite illustration of a biblical truth:  I love the story of Esther! Honestly, part of my love for this story involves the romance, the beauty, and the most wonderful spa treatments one can imagine! However, the part of verse 4:14 that says, “And who knows but that you have come to a royal position for such a time as this,” reminds me that God puts us in situations where we are called to live above our circumstances. If we trust that God has prepared us for courageous acts and remember to look for the opportunities God gives us, we can make a difference in the lives of others.
